South Cheshire College – Interoperability
The Challenge
Registration and enrolment at South Cheshire College can take many steps from initial completion of the enrolment form to the student receiving his student identification card, email account and access rights to all campus services. The entire process was time consuming and labour intensive from student enrolment, through verification, establishment of email accounts, and access to VLE and campus facilities.
The Solution
With the deployment of CampusIT QuercusPlus, South Cheshire College was able to automate all procedures from verifying student enrolment, creating network account for the student, assigning user name, email account and email groupings to creating on-campus service accounts and relevant security groups and access. The time to fully process student enrolment in the back office usually take up to 24-48 hours. After deployment, the process just takes 15 seconds and with no human intervention. Over £100K was saved on administrative support in year 1, and technical staff were redeployed to focus on the management and strategic duties rather than administrative tasks. South Cheshire College achieved a greater overall student satisfaction and better experience.
